From November thru February—eel fry hunting season—fishermen from all corners of Taiwan gather at the mouth of the Lanyang River, risking life and limb working in the frigid wind. During this four-month period, they build canvas shelters out of advertisement and campaign banners. These swathes of tents, accentuated by commercial taglines and politicians’ portraits, paint a unique landscape on the once desolate waterway.

每年11月到隔年2月合法捕撈鰻魚苗的季節，來自全台各地的捕撈人聚集在蘭陽溪出海口，在寒風中冒險為生活打拚。他們會用大型廣告或競選帆布，在沙灘上搭建這4個月的棲身之所。由於數量眾多，再加上廣告詞或候選人頭像，在原本空曠荒涼的出海口形成特殊的景象。
